Palazzos in Rome {Palazzo Colonna}

It's not everyday that my afternoon involves free reign of an art filled private palazzo. The other day as a benefit of my being a Friend of the American Academy in Rome I got to live out all of my girlhood princess dreams.


The American Academy had organized a lecture and classical concert in the palace and as a special event only open to the Friends of the Academy, an exclusive visit to the palazzo.

I got to wander in rooms filled with Bruegels, visit the private apartments of the stunning 14th century palace, including the ornate, silk cushioned Princess Isabelle Apartment.
