Drinking in Capri {Birra di Capri}
This past weekend was the first glimpse of spring here in Rome. After the gray, wet, winter months, blue skies and sunshine have me thinking about summer on the Amalfi Coast. Thinking of lazy days spent at beach clubs reading a book under an umbrella and thinking about drinks at sunset.
Luckily the Italian craft beer movement has come to Capri. Birra di Capri was started by three Caprese brothers and is a brewed in small batches with hops and malted barley in Anacapri. Each of the unpasteurized and unfiltered beers are named after legendary sirens and treasures from the sea.
I like to stop and have a glass of Ligea at the Bar Grotto Azzuro, which is also the headquarters of Birra di Capri, after a day spent at the elegant beach club Il Faro as we make our way back to the buzzier sunset scene in the Piazzetta.
I hope this has you thinking about the sunny summer days ahead. Have you started planning your Amalfi Coast vacation yet?
