Zuppe {Books and Soup in Rome}
It is time to start thinking about Christmas gifts. Or hostess gifts, (like for example, the Thanksgiving feasts you are traveling to). The new cookbook Zuppe is the perfect choice. It is small, pretty AND supports a good cause. Just go ahead and stock up and you are set for birthdays throughout the year.
I recently had the opportunity to eat soup and talk with Mona Talbot and Alice Waters (and many other Rome Prize Fellows) at a benefit for the Rome Sustainable Food Project held at the always transporting American Academy.

If you don't already have the Biscotti book, you should get that too.
For my Roman readers, you can become a Friend of the Academy and participate in events like this throughout the year.
Super, souper, zuppe. I loved the chickpea, farro and pumpkin. Nice to see you.
ReplyDeleteI love the cookbook, Zuppe! I bought one for my dad and he made me a delicious chilled cucumber yogurt soup the next time we saw each other. I'll have to remind him to try some of the winter recipes now that the seasons have changed. And I plan on giving more copies as gifts this holiday season!
