Thank you so much for that information! My husband just decided that he wants to rent a car. Any thoughts or advice? He's rented a car in Germany and is pretty confident, but I am slightly hesitant. Is there a car rental company in Rome that you would recommend?
your life will be much easier with a car. just go slow and know that streets are MUCH smaller than in america. There will not be much traffic on the amalfi coast in October. I have friends who just rented a car with Europecar.
