How to Get to Positano
Today - Head on over to Browsing Rome to read my guest post on how to get to Positano and the rest of the Amalfi Coast from Rome.
"The list is the origin of culture,” Umberto Eco. My favorite things to do and eat in Rome, European city breaks, and the best information on Italian beaches and islands.
Thank you for your blog. Could you recommend a way to get from Rome to Amalfi with a stop in Pompeii? Your help would be much appreciated!!

Joanna: I am so glad my site is helpful. The best way to get to Pompeii is to take the train to Naples and then take the Circumvesuviana light rail directly to Pompeii.

From Pompeii you can take the train to Sorrento and then the SITA bus to Amalfi.

If you want to make it easy on yourself, contact www.italyhotline.com and book a car/driver/tour guide to Pompeii and Amalfi with them.
Thank you so much for that information! My husband just decided that he wants to rent a car. Any thoughts or advice? He's rented a car in Germany and is pretty confident, but I am slightly hesitant. Is there a car rental company in Rome that you would recommend?
Deleteyour life will be much easier with a car. just go slow and know that streets are MUCH smaller than in america. There will not be much traffic on the amalfi coast in October. I have friends who just rented a car with Europecar.
